My work PC has a plain blue background 16 icons, Office short-cut bar and 6 faststart icons next to the start button. It runs Windows 2000 ... slowly.
My home PC has a picture of stone henge as a background and a minimum assortment of icons for things I use scattered randomly over the desk top. It runs Windows XP (it was pre-installed is my only excuse).
I scatter temporary icons on the desktop - it is a convenient temp folder you can always find:) I also run diferent screen savers depending on my mood and what I'm doing. If I'm cutting CDs then everything not required is shut down and the screen saver is off. I think I have a weather screen saver from bbc.co.uk at the moment - but it rarely starts as the PCs are either being typed on rapidly or are locked.
What does your desktop say about you? Go on admit it - tell us all your darkest secrets :)))
