Does anyone out there still remember Windows 3.1?

I remember getting a small office network set up with several Windows for Workgroups ( 3.11) and would you believe a Spark station - it worked once I'd found the duff bit of coax cable which stoped all the rest from running.

Ahhh ... those were the days ... shame about the company I worked for thought.

i am

what microsoft OS are you?

No I must be too young to remember that one. Hah!

Hell yeah I remember! Not too many years back, maybe four, I actually had a dual-boot setup with 3.11 and 98 just because I could! It's pretty amazing to run it on a much faster machine than in the old days.

Tried running GeoWorks too but it wouldn't recognize my network connection. That was my first real "windowed" environment, Tandy's DeskMate not really counting.

But the real joy was going back to MSDOS 2.11 (for Tandy's 16 color computers - c. 1986) and writing in GWBasic again.

Ah those were the good old days. May they R.I.P.

They still have most of them available as emulators - just hunt around on the net and you'll see the results of people with far too much time on their hands - actually I understand that some of them are v good.
