No, they draw rectangles and other shapes and tell you the sum of all the numbers inside that figure. So if you have 3 squares in a row marked out with a total of 6 they must be 1, 2 and 3 ... you just don't know the order. Also if you have a number of the new shapes that either makes up a number of the 3 by 3 squares plus or minus one square, or a number of the total rows or columns plus or minus a single square then you can calculate what must be in that square. (each row, column and 3 by 3 square must add up to 45)
