For those of you who might be aware that I was in London today, I didn't get in before the explosions and am quite safe! My appointment at Moorfields was at 1.30 - but I've canceled 'cos the whole transport system is not running.

Some two deaths confirmed (maybe others), hundreds of casualties. Mobile phone networks were down, either network overloaded or turned off.

My thoughts go out to all those touched by this.

keep feeling I want to burst into tears ... if I'd had a morning appointment then I'd have been going through Kings Cross station at about the time of the blast. *shrug* life is fragile and we all get reminders sometimes.

*nod* I remember a terrible car accident on the freeway a few years ago in Salt Lake City. Several people died, and the freeway was closed for a couple days as they cleaned up the mess. I had driven that stretch of freeway less than 5 minutes before that accident happened that day. I found that to be heartpoundingly upsetting that I had come so close. Reminded me to not take my life for granted. From everything I have heard and read in the news, London is handling this extremely well, but it will take some time.
