The head of the UK’s passport agency has confirmed that a tightening up of passport standards, including the inclusion of biometric information, will not eliminate sophisticated fraud or terrorism.

Hope all goes well for them! Full story here.

And that, Peter, is why we named it "Discovery"!
Sorry Peter, I wasn't logged in!

That's OK, I'm not me either! (in case anyone else is reading this)
someone other than peter
[Why did I have to change my password from 6 asterisks in Windows NT to 6 small black circles for Windows XP? It makes remembering it so much harder.]
They've known about the capabilities of hackers and fraudsters for a long time and still don't seem to realise that the best people may well be being paid by the other side?
Re Discovery, I wanna see it fly again....... but I expected it to be at least 3rd generation by now - with a primitive version of Impulse drive! - or given that it's Nasa, a version of the Infinite Implausability drive - powered by Texan fundamentalists! (I knew we'd find a use for them!)
And as for the worms, most big ISP's have fairly good AV systems in place to block stuff getting through! My father keeps seeing stuff like that ad he's very glad it's there! Me - when I was paranoid enough, I'd do my internet work through a virtual PC with all the networking firewalled at each end! I don't think much, if anything would get through that - and if you're feeling really peverse, you leave false confidential data for anyone who does get through!
Keep them comming Peter - I'm getting my edge back!

Now that's an idea I *like*!
I've got a few others ready! But they seem to start with 'Heel! Sit! Stay!' etc... This is the sort of politician we get when we don't have someone like Maggie Thatcher to potty train them!
You mean Michael Heel-stay-sit-stein?

"Today's flight is powered by G W Bush and the search for WMDs - please fasten your seat belts securely as we are expecting the take-off to be a little rough due to turbidity."
... false confidential data ...
That's a good idea ... but then I'm not actually Peter, I don't live in London and I don't Morris dance ... and the password for all my accounts is "drowssap" which no one would guess would they?
:))) take care, peace
