It seems that my company has built the latest version of ERNIE, the machine that selects the numbers for the UK premium bond draw. Now I just need to work out how to tweak the results ...

It's a PC with an Intel i810 (or whatever they call it now) chipset, isn't it? The one with the built in thermal noise random number generator.

Do you have any Premium Bonds?

Yes I do have PBs, and I won £50 recently :)

Apparently the best way to generate random noise is to put a contentious post up on a community journal and analyse the results :)

...if your company was Diebold, and if you were a pro-Bush Republican, you wouldn't have any problem fiddling the numbers.

Maybe we can plug your brand-new random-number-generators into our brand-new bug-ridden voting machines, and give our politicians a REAL run for their money. Don't like democracy? Try chaos instead... :-P

Re: Well...

I was more concerned at using Access as the program to create those applications ... knowing how reliable Access has been for me in the past!
