Peter Sheil
The storm is raging, the sky is dark and water is falling like a waterfall. Lightening flashes, there is a roll of thunder and ... the fire alarm goes off!

We evacuate and the stairs I'm using have water coming from above. Get to the door and huddle there 'till the downpour stops then go and sign in (our collection point is almost the other end of the car park with no shelter).

It seems the lightening set off the alarm - and maybe the building got hit! I'm back on-line OK so none of the computers got upset (amasingly).

Helps to pass the time eh?

Hope you did not have too many stairs to climb. I used to work in a 14 floor building (luckily I was only on the 5th) When we used to have fire alarms the poor people on the top floor used to make it down only to be counted and sent straight back up.

It's only 3 floors and I'm on the first so only had to go down / up on set of stairs. we were more concerned about getting wet than burnt :)
