Peter Sheil
Tomatoes are God's gift to dry cleaners.

Let me explain, and reassure you all that it hasn't been a problem for me today but only because I've had previous experience.

For lunch I walked to the local petrol station which I discovered has a mini Tesco store in it. I got a couple of bottles of drink, a pack of sandwiches (deep(1) bacon, lettuce and tomato) and a "snack pack" of cherry tomatoes (clear plastic three-sided pyramid about 3 inches on each edge filled with the fruits(2) ). As I was eating the tomatoes I made sure that they were completely contained in my mouth before biting them; this means that the explosive gush of tomatoe seeds and juice does not do a graceful arc out of my mouth onto surrounding desk, papers and clothes. Can you tell from the description that I wasn't always so knowledgeable? Yes, some things just have to be learnt the hard way. And tomatoe juice seems to make an almost indelible stain requiring the services of professional cleaners to remove it.

The guy I should be meeting here has still not arrived ... or if he has then he's managed to hide from me :) I think there are a few of us with door pass problems 'cos it was balanced open when I came back from my walk. In fact I reckon that with enough force and a credit card I didn't want to use again I could probably get in anyway but I'm not sure if here are any sensors or a camera set up to catch stuff like that so I'll be a good boy ... for now at least :)

Right, time to slurp my drink and get energetic for a while :) Enjoy your day.

(1)Why "deep"? I guess it is because there is a thicker layer of fillng than in some other sandwiches. Indeed the pack I had contaied only two sandwiches whilst some packs that appeared to be the same size contained three different ones. Surely that should make the sandwiches "thick"? Or perhaps I should contemplate the Zen nature of the bread, how it relates to the tomatoe and where my place is in the grand scheme of things.

(2)Tomatoes are fruit rather than veg. aren't they? My brain spat out that random fact as I was thinking about them but then refused to confirm the truth, just left me dangling here with almost enough certainty, but not quite enough, to be definite about this :) Someone confirm it please before I go mad I get madder than I was before I started working here. ;)

Here ya go Peter!

As for to each their own! If I had the confidence of some of the beautiful larger women I know I wouldn't want it so bad!

I see women who wear things and look good in them and it is because how they feel about themselves! I also see women who are in things they SHOULD NOT be wearing in my opinion but I admire their self confidence or the lack of not caring what others think! I had 3 babies and my stomach has lots of excess skin and stretch marks - I am not getting something that wasn't given to me - I am getting taken away something that was given that I DO NOT WANT! *smiles*

Re: Here ya go Peter!

Oh thanks for that link ... alhough knowing that I'm eating fertilized ovaries is perhaps not something to dwell upon as the juice from a ripe fruit is dribbling down my chin :) Makes you think eh?
*evil grin*

I'm not a great one for looks - it's the "inner person" that is important to me in a relationship. Having said that I am sure that looks do have some influence on me, even if at a subliminal level. I'm certainly aware of the modern trend of having low-slung jeans and personally find the combination of them and G-strings looks most unpleasant. You are quite right that confidence is a big factor. I'm sure I would find a well dressed but nervous woman less attractive than a confident but less well dressed one.

And to put the picture in reverse I now have far more "tummy" than I used to have :) Too much of my time is spent tapping away at a keyboard or sitting in my car and travelling many miles along the motorways with little adance notice of where I'm going to be. It is hard to organise social events or membership of gyms or other things to attend regularly (plus I am bone idle by nature ;) ). I could probably do with losing a bit of weight and exercising more regularly but if someone is not going to chat to / have a relationship with me 'cos of that then that's their loss :)
