Technical Query [Apr. 1st, 2004|11:03 am]
Peter Sheil
Hi folks,

Does anyone know how to set the "auto complete" setting on so that it will work for password fields? I am getting fed up typing long and complicated passwords everywhere and since all my passwords are unique after the first three characters it would be a real help to me.

I'm running Win XP Home, IE 6 SP2 on a Dell laptop. I think there is a registry setting that will do this but cannot find it anywhere. Any help you can give before midday would be appreciated.

Tools > Internet Options > Content > Auto Complete

From there you can set whichever things you want to Auto Complete, depending on your choice.

There was me thinking this would be a jolly jape for 1st April :) [hence the request for help before midday] and good old MS actually claim you can auto complete passwords! As a security risk it has to be up there near keeping passwords on post-it notes under your keyboard.

Thanks for responding anyway, and have a good day :)
