Quotes of The Day [Feb. 8th, 2004|09:41 pm]
Peter Sheil
Having defeated the black rubbish bag monster all I have to do is pack some stuff, drive 150 miles, pay a 4.60 GBP toll for the priviledge of entering Wales (well driving over the bridge actually), and getting to my hotel.

I'm working in Cardiff on Monday, then back doing different things in London for the rest of the week.

Just to add to your enjoyment here are the promised quotes :)

You can fool too many of the people too much of the time.
James Thurber (1894 - 1961), New Yorker, Apr. 29, 1939 "The Owl who was God"

You're never too old to become younger.
Mae West (1892 - 1980)

He who will not reason is a bigot; he who cannot is a fool; and he who dares not is a slave.
Sir William Drummond

Without the aid of prejudice and custom I should not be able to find my way across the room.
William Hazlitt (1778 - 1830)

IT consultant - sort of "Mr Fixit" although the role does change from time to time. I once commented at a job review meeting that the best description of my job was "Shit shoneller" :) At that time I was the one who got called in when things had gone wrong - not only had the shit started to hit the fan but the fan was getting bent out of shape :) Usually the first thing I had to do was sort out the client and do a lot of PR type stuff then get on to whatever the technical problem was and either fix it or find someone who could fix it.

Now ... well it's a bit different but still support clients applications but from a different base.

Anyway, better get on here ... miles to go still :)
