Peter Sheil
Hi there

I don't seem to have posted much over the last few weeks. Mostly it is just that I don't have that much time to do it with working away from home but also I've been having some problems with my eyes so I've been keeping (well trying to any way) off the computer as much as I can. This is hard as my job is basically all compter based :( Air conditioned offices can dry out my contact lenses which is painful, sometimes they just get irritated all by themselves and sometimes it is because I've had them in for too long in a day.

In theory I should leave them out for 8 hours in every 24. Hmm, yes, well I do manage that sometimes :) The problem is that I cannot get a good vision correcton from glasses so I have to wear the lenses. My eye condition (keratoconus) causes a distortion on the front of the eye (cornea) which moves around as my eye moves. The contact lenses move with the eye so provide the correct correction [oh the English]. Without the lenses the world is a bleary blurry place - I certainly shouldn't drive without my lenses in.

Fitting in the "8 hours out" gets to be hard some days ... today I was on the road driving from Londo to Cardiff shortly after 6 AM so in theory I should have taken the lenses out by 10 PM yesterday (it was actually about midnight) and I should get them out again by 10 PM toight (might happen if I'm lucky and don't try to do any work on my personal web site).

On that subject (my web site) there are now some pictures posted of the last passenger flights of Concorde *sigh* It was a good day out, my sister and I caught a very early tube train to Hatton Cross and then ended up walking miles around the perimeter road but the pictures were well worth it :) You can see them at http://www.blodtandsmidigt.com , just click the link at the bottom of the page.

Note: This is bait for somebodies to see if they are still reading our journals :)

Update: I think somebodies got the flu so please send a nice warm drink over to them and tuck them up warmly.

lovely pics. Shame she's going out of commission.
You know one of them, the little one, where she looks like a small triangle, reminds me of a ufo.
There's a picture of the US Stealth, head on, that also looks like a ufo.
I've always wanted to do a burmuda triangle story where a stealth goes into the past, and is mistaken for ufos....

... or a future plane comes back to our time and is mistaken for Concorde? ;) Or maybe do two time changes in parallel ... one from the past and one from the future both arriving here, meeting and etting confused with each otjer ... lots of possibilities :)))

Great pics of concorde, although I only had time to look at a few of the larger images. I totally know what you mean with the contact lens thing, mine are supposed to come out every night and go in solution....then at the end of the month I chuck them and insert new pair. However how it usually works is I take them out once a week( yes I sleep in them) and throw them out every 6 weeks. I know I am terrible, but I have worn this sort of lenses for 3 years and never had an eye infection. So I thik that the optician is making much money from me. Time to switch to internet purchased lenses I think.

I don't have the option of leaving my lenses in - they are hard, gas permeable ones - they have to be hard 'cos they are actually changing the shape of my eye slightly and soft lenses just won't do it.

Thanks for the comments 'bout the pics. I have a load more and some more descriptive text to post soon as I get back to my flat - probably Friday night. I'll ut a post in my journal so you can join in the ... excitement ... that's the word I want isn't it?;)
