A valuable collection of vintage wines once owned by Nicolae Ceausescu was thrown away by cleaners who thought it looked too old to drink. About 2,000 bottles stored in a cellar at the People's Palace in Bucharest were cleared to make way for mops and buckets. "We did not try it because we thought it might poison us as it was so old", one cleaner said. The blunder was noticed when staff went to get 621 bottles which had been sold to a collector for £32,000.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this.
