News from the BBC

Weather gets 3D gaming makeover
BBC weather is to use 3D gaming graphics technology to make its bulletins more realistic and accurate.

Oh goody, 3D rain and clouds :)

Students' drink bill nears £1bn
University students spend nearly £1bn a year on alcohol, according to a survey.

Is that bill per student? That's some serious drinking! Of course there are more students at university than there used to be and the price of drinks is going up so I guess that it isn't actually so surprising.

The UN is leading a day of global events to mark the abolition of slavery and to
highlight continuing abuses.

Radcliffe 'devastated'

Ahhh - so sad. It sounds like it was a tough course in even tougher conditions.
Sad Susie

(no subject)

On Sunday I managed to cut the second finger of my right hand on a sheet of paper. Nothing serious or life-threatening but it did take a while to stop bleeding and it's right at the end so hard to get a plaster (band-aid) to stick over it.

Today I'm finding out that I'm not a two finger typist. :)

Quick update

1. Have updated runningdiary, see there for details.
2. Have got a radio router running on Joe's ADSL connection - still got to get the radio bit tested.
3. Work is busy, may not be updating much during the day.

That's all for now.

Edit: I now remove the network cable, say the magic words "Wireless LAN" and voila ... mobile computing :)
Just for a change technology working first time! Yay.
Edit2: Now back on the cable - I always get a kick when I pull out the network card, plug in a network cable and it all just carries on with open browser sessions ... hey I'm a geek, and easily pleased! :)))
