After googling [if there is such a verb ;) ] for something about comedy artists (to answeer a question in a friend's journal) I slipped into Spoonerism with no backward glance and hence to Metathesis. Finally I found myself looking at the Cartoon Laws of Physics and the eighth of which is listed below. [Don't ask about this jump, I got side-tracked OK :) ]

Cartoon Law VIII
Any violent rearrangement of feline matter is impermanent.

Cartoon cats possess even more deaths than the traditional nine lives might comfortably afford. They can be decimated, spliced, splayed, accordion-pleated, spindled, or disassembled, but they cannot be destroyed. After a few moments of blinking self pity, they reinflate, elongate, snap back, or solidify.

A cat will assume the shape of its container.

Go to http://funnies.paco.to/cartoon.html to see the rest - a smile producer on a dull day here in Wales.

Last chance to vote on my next long post's subject. If you haven't voted already then go here. It's tense as I write this with two subjects tieing and the third just one vote behind ... your vote might make the difference :) (and no, three subjects tieing is not what I want!)
