(no subject)

We have just had the results of our appraisals ... after over 3 1/2 years without a pay rise I've been given ... no payrise but a one-off bonus *shrugs*

I'd half expected nothing at all so it's better than it might have been but I'm actually getting paid less in real terms year by year. *sigh*

I've also received a letter from the nice Hertfordshire police asking why I hadn't replied to a notice of fixed penalty ... well I never got the original! It was one I got on the Friday evening I went up to Chesterfield with Lucy and Steve. I was driving along the A414 where there are lots of changes in speed limit and straight into the sun, so it was hard to see signs. I missed one going into a dual-carriage way section - I thought it was 70 mph and was doing 66, the limit was 50 :( GBP 60 fine and 3 (I think) points on my licence. I did think about trying to fight it as the 50 mph sign was not visible but after taking legal advice they said I'd lose anyway and have to pay more so it wasn't worth it :((

And I missed Mort last night :( hope the listen again feature works.
