The second one made me laugh out loud.
Water, taken in moderation, cannot hurt anybody.
Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'.
Gratitude is merely the secret hope of further favors.
Francois de La Rochefoucauld (1613 - 1680)
The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you'll never find it.
C. P. Snow (1905 - 1980)
I just had to post this set 'cos of the first one. Any of my American friends want to comment on that?
The thing that impresses me the most about America is the way parents obey their children.
King Edward VIII (1894 - 1972)
Mustard's no good without roast beef.
Chico Marx (1891 - 1961)
Events in the past may be roughly divided into those which probably never happened and those which do not matter.
William Ralph Inge (1860 - 1954)
He is one of those people who would be enormously improved by death.

OK, a real post, I haven't done one of those for a while.
1. I am not a millionaire yet ... indeed my lottery ticket had no winning lines even for the lowest prize :(
2. At work we have to use all our leave allowance before the end of the year or we lose it. I have to take 10 days (including Friday last week) before the end of the year. I have 3 days of meetings or other fixed things where I will be able to do little or no client work. I have about 9 days client work to complete before the end of the year. There are now 13 working days left before Christmas and 16 before the end of the year. Now let me try a little maths here ... 9 client days plus 3 days of meetings plus 9 days leave equals 21 days. Available days = 16. Ratio of time dilation needed = 16 / 21 = 76% . I think this means I need to travel at roughly the speed of light for the next few days :)
3. I have been building furniture - so far just a wardrobe but a box to fit on top and a couple of sets of draws will soon follow. This is all part of the "Get Peter Organised" campaign - I need to make better use of my available space in my flat and reduce the volume of my stuff, partly at least by getting rid of things I haven't used in the last few years. This is a painful process but it has to be done. I've also got to go back to the shop where I bought the furniture 'cos between us we managed not to notice that I had one box too few. [the wardrobe comes in two boxes but I forgot this and left with my four boxes ... derr]
4. There is no fourth thing, except perhaps that I'm not that organised for Yule / Christmas
Hope life is good for everyone reading this.
