Groan :)

Harold is 82 and having some prostate problems. After examining
him, the doctor gives him a specimen jar and says "Take this
home with you, and try to produce a semen specimen. Stop by
tomorrow and drop it off so I can run a few tests."

Harold takes the jar and heads home. The next day Harold comes
in and asks to speak with the doctor. When he is taken into
the office, the doctor asks how he made out. "Not good, Doc."
Says Harold. "I went home and tried to do what you said. I
tried with my right hand 'til it was cramped from the arthritis
..no luck. I tried with my left hand, until I had blisters...
no luck. I asked my wife to help me out, so she tried with her
left hand and with her right hand.... no luck. She even tried
with her mouth. She tried with her teeth in, and she tried with
her teeth out.... no luck. Then we called Edna, next door, to
see if she could help...."

"Good Grief man!" exclaimed the doctor, "You asked your
neighbor to help you?"

"Yep." says Harold, "None of us could get the lid off that
jar."

Monday

Yesterday I went to Cardiff to see a different part of my company. A number of projects we support are moving from one site to there and most of the people who support them now do not want to move.

The office is situated in a business park outside Cardiff at St Mellons (no sniggering at the back please). The working area is a large open plan space with clusters of 4 desks huddled together - not much space each but the guy I might be working with was friendly and seemed keen to have me there. The house prices are a lot cheaper in the area, although I'd probably rent.

Chatting to the guys there it seems I will not be expected to take a pay cut or change my benefits package (some guys have had to take pay cuts to keep jobs) and there is the ossibiliy of getting some relocaton expenses. It all sounds good - I think I'll take it if it is offered. I'm just waiting to see if the management can get their act together and organise this to actually happen.

Note to self: Must remember to lock the pigs in tonight when I'm feeding them so they don't fly away before the morning.

I'll let you all know how it goes :)
Peace
peter

Today

today I went shopping and I bought: -

  • Linux User

  • Linux Format

  • Mark Knopfler - The Ragpicker's Dream

  • Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

  • Pink Floyd - Animals

  • Pink Floyd - The Best Of - 26 tracks on 2 CDs

  • A Healthy Living Fresh Fruit Salad with Kiwi and Mellon and Strawberries

  • I must have looked suspicious 'cos they took my thumb print when I paid for the CDs - it's a local police initiative I think, they've never asked me for it before but I'm not bothered by it. I'll have to put the CDs into the car's CD changer - it lives hidden away in the boot and holds 6 CDs. What's there now? ...
Eva Cassidy - Time After Time
    Dido - No Angel
Sade - Lovers Rock (this drives me mad with the noise she makes as her hand moves on the frets of the guitar)
Dire Straits - Alchemy (2 CDs)
Evelyn Glennie - Shadow Behind the Iron Sun (she is a deaf percussionist and is v good)

What do you think that lot says about my musical tastes? Eclectic? Assorted? Random? You tell me :)

    Peace
    peter
