Quotes of the day [Nov. 18th, 2002|07:57 am]
Peter Sheil
Good morning. I've just driven through fog and traffic queues but got here unscathed.
The sun is just rising and I can see a light blue sky with patch clouds being lit by the sun. Just getting me in the right mood for a days work as a consultant ... which leads neatly on to he first quote.

Peace and a good Monday to you all
peter

"It all began with Adam. He was the first man to tell a joke--or
a lie. How lucky Adam was. He knew when he said a good thing,
nobody had said it before. Adam was not alone in the Garden of
Eden, however, and does not deserve all the credit; much is due
to Eve, the first woman, and Satan, the first consultant."
---Mark Twain, 1867

Talking much about oneself can also be a means to conceal oneself.
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900)

Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge.
Paul Gauguin (1848 - 1903)

Groan [Nov. 18th, 2002|01:20 pm]
Peter Sheil
"Do you remember that terribly pushy woman with the attitude
problem who lived in the apartment above us?"

"Yes, what about her?"

"She's marrying a doctor she met when she went in for X-rays."

"Really...I wonder what he saw in her?"
