A busy day today.

1. Went into town to pay some bills and do a little shopping.
2. Got myself some lunch.
3. Tried to get a car to run - dead battery so jump started it. It seemed to run OK, but stalled when I took it for a short drive and then wouldn't start :( I had to walk home, get my company car, re jump start my car, drive my car home, walk back to my company car then drive it back home.
4. Went shopping again to get a new battery, a torch for the car, a Christmas tree, an extension power cable so Kim doesn't steal the one I use for my computers when she is working at home .. oh yes and some food :)

Kim was out on a Morris dancing event - I could have gone but had too much to do. When Kim got back she just complained that I hadn't cleaned the bathroom >:0 Some days you just cannot win :(

We are going out this evening, so that should be fun, and a chance to relax.

Harry Potter

Well I finalally got to see Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - that's what it is called over here. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The special effects are good, but not over done as in Star Wars.

There was a large group - nine of us in total. Andy was seeing it for a second time to study the special effects, I think everyone else was seeing it for a first time. Although it is long (2:30?) it didn't drag. The invisibility cloak was done very well, and the owls were good - they switched between real and (I think) computer generated ones and I for one couldn't see the joins. Kim said that the actor playing Harry Potter had his voice break half way through filming and that his voice was dubbed for half of the picture but I couldn't detect it.

I think everyone enjoyed it - I'd recommend it if you haven't seen it yet, or if you feel like going again.

Right I'm off to bed. Have fun you-all :)

Oy ::mumble:: I'm JOHN McVIE. Yup...
I'm JOHN McVIE, the bassist of Fleetwood Mac! I'm quiet, humble, and inconspicuous. I lurk in the background at big events and I occasionally mumble when I talk. I dress casually, as if I just pick something off the floor and put it on.

I rock the bass on songs like "The Chain" and "Gold Dust Woman."

Which member of Fleetwood Mac are you?

Men's Quote of the Day:
Women are like fine wine. They all start out fresh, fruity and
intoxicating to the mind and then turn full-bodied with age
until they go all sour and vinegary and give you a headache.

Men are like fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it's
our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they
mature into something with which you'd like to have dinner.
