Questions for everyone ... [Dec. 7th, 2001|11:45 am]
Peter Sheil
This post is open to all, I have a similar one for
"friends only" as well.

How do you decide to trust someone you meet on-line?
What have been your good and bad experiences? Why do
you keep on doing it? :)

Questions asked out of genuine interest.

Blessed Be
peter

I guess you were not logged into Live Journal - look at the friends only post.

meeting people online

you don't know me but I am a friend of keiths and as I came along his friends list I thought I would comment on your post...

I want you to understand that I have met quite a few people online..and have had one bad experience..but never met this person face to face.. but he had gotten very crude ..which I have an adversion to people that are that way..

but the majority of the people i know and the ones I have actually met are some of the best people in the world..As a matter of fact the man that i am going to marry i met online..as far as trusting him..a lot of it was instinct..a feeling that he was being truthful ..because some of what he told me about himself he was actually afraid to tell me...but then there were things that I told him that ..after i told him he said it made no difference to him...as what he told me made none to me.. and believe me what we told each other for most people would have made a difference..but after the second time I talked to him it was like we had known each other for years...as time went by I knew that I could tell him anything..

So as far as I know alot is what is said to you and in what degree it is said...and instict as far as trusting a person you don't know face to face....

Keith on the other hand tho I also met him online has always been and always will be just a friend..but with the man I am going to marry I fell in love with him on line and more so when I actually met...I figured anyone who would spend hours looking for a person lost in a strange city..has got to be worth my time and love...

I hope this helps you..
Take care..
Penny

Re: meeting people online

well as i have waited and stayed single for the last 17 and a half years ...a lot of this has to do with fate and destiny..and as I have met many people online...I have never had the feeling of wanting to tell this man everything about my life the first time I talked to him..Just so he would know right away...

Have a Merry Christmas and a Very happy New Year...
