Lack of posts [May. 23rd, 2002|11:01 pm]
Peter Sheil
Hi there

No posts for the last few days - I've been having trouble
with my eyes and have had two days off work. Today I went
to Moorfields Eye Hospital to get them to check out my eyes.
they have started getting very sensetive to light and are not
coping well with my contact lenses. They checked out the eyes
and the lenses and said they were all OK. Still leaves me with
red and watering eyes, and problems driving in sunshine.

Ah well, guess I'll cope but it does make life harder some days :(

Hope everyone else is OK

Blessed Be
peter

Re:

Thanks :)

All I can do is keep blinking :)
I've just got in to work today and the air is dry and hot - hmm just what I want.

Thanks

Thanks for the thought.

The underlying problem, Keratoconus, will not get better. It is a
one way street with only cornea replacements at the end. As for my
sensativity to light, I'll just have to try taking them out more
often - I'm going to try rinsing them at lunch time today and see
if that helps.

Today was OK driving in to work - heavy rai and spray on the M3, but
it is getting brighter here in Camberley and the office air is very
dry :(

I hope your eyes get better soon. You have my sympathy with light-sensitivity. My eyes have always been extra-sensitive to light. I have a tendency to wear sunglasses a lot, even on cloudy days because it's too bright for me. And if I have a fever, I have to stay in dark rooms. I can't even watch TV or look at a computer monitor without pain. I sincerely hope it gets better for you. {{{HUGS}}}

thanks

unfortunately I spend most of my day looking a a laptop
and I do the same for fun as well sometimes :(

My eyes won't "get better" from the keratoconus - when
the vision gets too bad I'll need cornea transplants.
'Till then I'll just have to be careful, avoid dry air
and bright lights and clean the lenses more often.
My eyes have been stable for what, 25 years now. So I
guess it is time to have some problems with them :)

take care (hugs)

So sorry

To hear this. My Mom suffers from the condition, and I know just what it is like. Take care of yourself!

thanks

That was why I gave up gliding - if I'm driving and I have a problem wih a contact lens I can pull into the side of the road and sort it out. If i had the same problem in a glider I'd have to stop on the nearest cloud :)

I do miss it, but I have other things to do in life now and I'll always have my memories, and the log books to jog my memory.

Re: thanks

I see. Well, as I said, do take care of yourself.
Can I some time turn to you for advice on getting to rest under the cloud? :-)

Basically it is "put the wing tip in the meaty bit of the thermal"

Have fun and don't stall
