Happy Solstice.

I was up a hill in Wales, after it stopped raining, and had a good night, although I did manage to fall over on the way down and have a grazed elbow and knee :(

Peace
peter

Happy Solstice! Which hill in Wales had a grievance against your elbow and know?

Twmbariwm [OS ST 244 927 I think if I've remembered how to do it right :)] [52deg 37' 39.52" N 3deg 05' 37.14 W, elev 1304 ft according to Google Earth]

Truth to tell, it was my own fault for carrying on when I went the wrong way back to the road, and had to climb through a wooden fence and then leap 5 ft down a slippy slope holding my camera and tripod :) (both of which seem to have survived)

Happy Solstice! That's the welsh hills for you! They probably decided that as you'd missed the rain, you needed a certain degree of discomfort!

Sounds like you went up a hill and came down a mountain.

Was there a film crew there?

We went up to the Devil's Jumps by Churt, but didn't stay all night as we are both short of sleep and needed to be sensible for work today.

I had already booked today off ... but I still had to talk someone through making a database change and ended up logging in remotely to try to understand the problem, then ended up typing long strings of SQL, and mostly getting it right. The joys of working on live databases!

There are only the pictures I took myself, but I refrained from pics of the knee or elbow. I'll try and get them up later.

We may book the the day off next year, and stay up there until sunrise.
Next time we'll know not to take folding chairs - there isn't anywhere flat enough to put them!

Happy solstice! (I kept wondering why it felt like I should have celebrated it yesterday!)

I am tempted to give you a visual of the knee, but it is a bit gory :)

Happy Solstice?
What is it? some kind of weird British holiday when you are supposed to climb up a hill and fall down from it???
