When the bombs went off in the tubes everyone just went out and huffed because it was inconvenient. Within minutes people were making jokes about, "I knew the French were bad losers, but.."

See http://www.livejournal.com/users/tyrell/154027.html for a collection of quotes that typify the British reaction to 7/7

Hey and notice how our terrorist attack is on a date that won't confuse our American cousins. Perhaps we could get the terrorists to always do that?

Peace

Today is twenty years since the only terrorist act within New Zealand, the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior by the French. Let's blame the French. :P

You know, I was watching the news broadcasts (and worried about my friends in London since I have no way of knowing if anyone is alright without a computer and it blew up right before the first tube did) and I was so impressed and proud of the calm. What I found possibly most impressive of all was the brillient lad or lassie who thought to film getting out of the tube car on the cellular phone.

Now isn't that just like the English, for you?
