... and another thing [May. 26th, 2004|06:46 pm]
Peter Sheil
Why do most of the shops I tried today either not stock any contact lens solutions, only stock different makes of solutions that I'm not happy to use or be out of stock of the soaking solution (the one thing I had to get today). Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Eventually I found somewhere that did stock it ... ASDA of all people. Sainsburys, Tescos, various local pharmacies, and an opticians had failed me first. What a waste of a lunch time.

For those that don't already know I have an eye condition (keratoconus) for which I have to wear hard contact lenses; glasses just won't cut the mustard for me 'cos the problem is a lump on the surface of the eye. Without my lenses in I'm quite blind :) If you were a few feet away I'd only recognise you by voice or general body shape as all the features people usually use for identification would just be a big blur to me. This means that I get a bit paranoid about my eyes and lenses sometimes plus the condition can make the eyes more sensitive to light anyway.
*sigh*

Still I did get the solutions I needed so I can be a happy seeing bunny tonight :)
*hoppity hopitty hop*

Peace
peter

Nah, the Tesco store didn't ... they did have some contact lens fluids but not the one I use (Boston Advanced Formula); it was Asda that had it.

Well truth be told I haven't anything particularl against Wallmart, it's just that they have a reputation of taking over other stores and forcing small stores out of business by selling chaep.

When I've been in the US they seemed OK stores ... and doing is it called layaway? is a good idea - not one we have in the UK

Peace

Stores are really random like that. You would think that they would all stock them!

Yep! Still I know where to look now. It does mean that I'll be more likely to try Asda for other stuff I want so they'll get more of my business.
