Quotes of the Day [Jan. 19th, 2004|05:05 pm]
Peter Sheil
I think I agree with all these except perhaps number 4 as I don't understand what it's about. Can anyone explain it to me? what is the gap? Does it mean that there is always someone blocking the light at the end of the tunnel (which is just an on-coming train anyway) or are they there to help you??? *shrugs*

Peace
peter

If two men agree on everything, you may be sure that one of them is doing the thinking.
Lyndon B. Johnson (1908 - 1973)

You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing.
Michael Pritchard

It is a profitable thing, if one is wise, to seem foolish.
Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)

Every one of us gets through the tough times because somebody is there, standing in the gap to close it for us.
Oprah Winfrey (1954 - ), O Magazine

What she's saying is that we get through the tough times because there's somebody there next to us, between us and the way out, so to speak, offering their hand to help us through. Does that make a little more sense?

Hmmm - maybe. But if they are between us and the way out aren't they stopping us getting out?

I think...If there is a gap, a helpful person could lay down on it and one can stop on them...or maybe not. :-)
