Computer Haiku [Jan. 23rd, 2002|05:06 pm]
Peter Sheil
I have found my list of 30 computing based haiku while trying to get enough room to work on my desk. I'll include the first few to give you a flavour of them.

Three things are certain
Death, taxes and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.

Everything is gone;
Your life's work has been destroyed.
Squeeze trigger (Yes/No)?

Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

I'll post more unless you all complain and beg me to stop :)))

I'm not fond of poetry, of any sort, but I like these computer haiku.

OK - I'm just off home, but I'll leave you with a very visual one

First snow, then silence.
This thousand dollar screen dies
so beautifully

And one to give you a smile

No keyboard present
Hit F1 to continue
Zen engineering?

G'night

Re:

Would you mind if I e-mail these to some computer-geek-type friends? I won't do it without your permission.

Thanks :-) I'll be sure to give you credit as the author.

Not as the author, merely the re-introducer to the internet of some old material. :) I got these from a friend years ago and he got thenm from a /long/ previous list. The author is good old "anon" by now.

If you wait I have another 25 to enter - I only have a printed copy - so I'll probably do one or two a day for a while,

Glad you like them - makes up for me being rude about your flag maybe?

Windows XP is a lot harder to blue screen than NT :-)
