Hello [May. 7th, 2003|11:05 am]
Peter Sheil
I'm staying at the Jarvis Wentloog ... what is a Wentloog? anyone know??

The rooms are a quite small compared to what I am used to - the proverbial cat swinging wouldn't fit :) - and the shower looks like a coffin on end, don't stick your elbows out while you're soaping your bits! When I'm sitting on the toilet my legs are under the washbasin. It looks bigger 'cos there are mirrors everywhere - not a pleasant sight first thing in the morning :)

Went out for a meal with a colleague in the evening then did a bit of work on some pics I'll be posting later when I'm back in London. I cannot access my web site from work 'cos of the fire wall and I'm not paying hotel prices for use of the phone to dial in. I suppose I could use my mobile phone but I think it can probably wait rather than getting yet anoher bit of software loaded on my laptop to go wrong ... me, trust software? Come on I write the stuff and I wouldn't trust any of the systems I suport :)

Off to cut a CD to take to a client ... more bugs to load :)
Peace
peter

I'm guessing that a Wentloog is a family name; no search results on Dictionary.com. (Yeah, I'm a geek.) What's this about swinging cats? I've heard of herding cats, but swinging? Unclear on the concept. I also like the fact that it's 7am here, and this post says you ended it at 11:05am. Goofy as hell. Yeah, I'm a geek. A tired geek.

Re:

When in a small place the saying goes "There's not enough room to swing a cat" - I presume holding by the tail and rotating vigorously. This is a theoretical concept, a thought experiment if you will, and as such does not require the actual swinging of an actual cat in the small enclosed space.

As to being a gek ... well yes :) but then so am I.

The description of the bathroom was priceless, LOL. You must be rather tall or were the mice hunchback..? ;-) (oops sorry for the "mouse" reference...a rather touchy subject, eh? LOL)

It's OK I seem to be clear of them *crosses fingers and eyes*

The description is true! I'll try and take pics to prove it!

Re:

Nah, work firewall blocks stuff like that, plus I don't want to install any of the IM clients on my work laptop. I do have an ICQ account but only have it set up on a desktop machine I haven't used for a while.
