Derr... [Dec. 18th, 2002|10:37 am]
Peter Sheil
On the way into work this morning someone drove into the back of my car :(
Was on North Circular Road, west bound on the Brent Cross flyover.

Back of my car scratched and bent a bit, boot does not shut properly.
His car lost number plate, radiator grill, glass in both headlamps.
No personal injury, except my elbow a little bit.

Just shaken, not stired :)
Jittery

Re:

Thanks
Yes, even if it isn't actually that serious it still leaves you a bit shakey :)

Al should get sorted through insurance ad my car is still drivable, although I'll have to keep an eye out to see if exhaust fumes are getting in where the rear hatch back / boot isn't quite shut. Don't want to fall aspeeep whiilee driiviiinnggg ... zzz ZZZ *jerks awake* :)

Are you around on Saturday or back "up north"? I'm meeting some people for lunch at a pub then going on to an art gallery where they have an exhibition of pictures of London at dawn. See http://www.livejournal.com/users/ljmeetuplondon/day/2002/12/10 for details.

Peace

Re:

It's a company car,so it will all be done through the insurance companies. I've phoned the company car people and given them all the details, and his insurance company 'cos I forgot to get his personal phone number, and he txted me so I phoned him to make sure he had the details he needed as well.

I should get a call from a garage in a day or two to get a guy out to assess the damage, then it should be repaired. I should even get a replacement car while mine is being fixed.

It is still a shock and a load of hassle, just not actually going to cost me anything.

Cheers

Re:

Airbags shouldn't deploy if you're rear-ended. Not unless it knocks you so hard that your front end hits something with a good amount of force.

Drive my Car by The Beatles

Really sorry to hear about your "little accident".

Hope it doesn't take too long to sort out. See you on Saturday.
