Quotes of the day [Nov. 18th, 2002|07:57 am]
Peter Sheil
Good morning. I've just driven through fog and traffic queues but got here unscathed.
The sun is just rising and I can see a light blue sky with patch clouds being lit by the sun. Just getting me in the right mood for a days work as a consultant ... which leads neatly on to he first quote.

Peace and a good Monday to you all
peter

"It all began with Adam. He was the first man to tell a joke--or
a lie. How lucky Adam was. He knew when he said a good thing,
nobody had said it before. Adam was not alone in the Garden of
Eden, however, and does not deserve all the credit; much is due
to Eve, the first woman, and Satan, the first consultant."
---Mark Twain, 1867

Talking much about oneself can also be a means to conceal oneself.
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900)

Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge.
Paul Gauguin (1848 - 1903)

I really like the first and the second quote. Not sure which one more. I am still debating.

Re:

I think I veer towards the first, but only 'cos I am a consultant (straightens horns and throws another lost soul into the furnace)

The second is actually more thought provoking ... hmm as you say a hard choice.

Re:

Yeah, the second one is more thought provoking. I think it's quite true though. At leasta bout myself. So I like it.

The first one made me laugh, so I like it.

Re:

Yeah, personally I relate more to the other 2, but then if we were all he same then everyone would utter trite aphorisms like this :) *ho ho*

Have a good day
