Groan [Nov. 5th, 2002|09:34 am]
Peter Sheil
Two lobsters were sunbathing on the beach. The lady lobster
suggested that the gentleman lobster to get them an ice cream
each. Having purchased two ice cream cones Mr. Lobster made
his way back to the beach, deciding on the way to eat his ice
cream.

By the time he has finished the ice cream he realized that his
lady friend's ice cream had started to melt all down his claw,
so he licked it up and ended up eating it.

When he arrived back at the beach his lady lobster friend
exclaimed, "Where are the ice creams?"

"Well" he said. "I decided to eat mine. Then yours melted, so
I ate that too."

His lady friend was incensed and cried, "You shellfish bastard!"

What´s a cancarian?

And talking of fish. I´d like to buy a goldfish, do you know where I can buy one around here? Only place I know is in camden Town, and I´m not sure tube rides are good for fish.

Vicktoria? There's a shop called something like "Tropical Paradise". Right behind the Argos.

Ta - it's supposed to be a pissed Russian peasant.
Have you been to Tropical Tank? I think they have a list of dealers in goldfish and suchlike.

Oh...I thought he was praying-singing or something. ;-) It´s a good pissed peasant. You can clearly tell he´s Russian...or maybe Turkish.

*Clicks on the tank*
Thanks.

It goes with the whole being Russian, doesn´t it?
Not that I´d want to stereotype, of course. :)

Re:

Going :-). Not yet solo, but managed to badly bend one of the rudder pedals of a K13 when spinning last Sunday. It was hair-raising - the thing just did not want to go back to the normal position!
Just imagine this: you apply full opposite rudder, and then you have no chance whatsoever to take it off.
Thanks God I had an instructor behind my back...

Happy memories

Yes spinning can get quite hairy ... like your icon? Mostly with training gliders it is hard work getting them into a spin in the first place but there are some that will do so quite effectively - the instructors know just how to do it :)

Hmm getting the rudder stuck would probably have you going into a spin in the opposite direction ... now where is the "eject" button ?

Have fun, good winds, active thermals and safe landings

Re: Happy memories

Thanks! And I do hope that I'll be signed off on spins this weekend. I must say this is the one thing about gliding which I do not like.
As far as getting a trainer into a spin is concerned - dead easy with a K-13. Stall it and apply full rudder - and there you go.
K-13 has never killed anyone spinning, though - or this is what I am being told. Unlike Puchacz which apparently love to spin on the winch.
Good we don't have them....

Cancarian ... birth zodiac sign of Cancer ... or did I mis-spell it.

I'd guess there is a pet shop if you go along the road to Rani's ... but I'm just guessing.

You probably spelled it very much right but I didn´t make the link.

Thanks for the tip. I´ll have a tottle along there and have a look.
